Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 18, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how MAKERS CLUB LLC (“we”, “us”) handles personal information in connection with our service of introducing overseas buyers to Japanese food and beverage producers. We comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Thai Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (PDPA).

1. Who we are

MAKERS CLUB LLC (data controller)
Konotora Building 7F, 1-1-14 Shimomeguro, Meguro-ku, Tokyo 153-0064, Japan
Representative: Issey Haraguchi, Representative Partner
Email: export@makersclubs.com

2. Information we collect

  1. Publicly available business information: company name, address, business description, products, and publicly listed contact details such as a general inquiry email address. We collect this from company websites and public business registries.
  2. Information you give us: your name, job title, contact details, and information about the products, volumes and requirements you discuss with us.
  3. Correspondence records: the dates and content of emails exchanged with us, and any request to stop receiving messages.

3. Purposes and legal bases

  • Contacting businesses about our introduction service (outside the EU/EEA and the United Kingdom) — based on our legitimate interest in developing business relationships (PDPA Section 24(5) for Thailand). We contact business addresses only and include a simple way to opt out in every message.
  • Communicating with businesses in the EU/EEA and the United Kingdom — we do not send marketing emails to recipients in the EU/EEA or the United Kingdom without their prior consent. We communicate with businesses there only when they contact us first, or through other lawful channels such as trade shows and referrals. Such communication is based on steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)), your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), or our legitimate interest in responding to and following up on the contact you initiated (Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • Responding to inquiries and arranging meetings — based on steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract, or on our legitimate interest.
  • Introducing buyers and producers to each other — based on your consent, obtained before each introduction.
  • Administering agreements and invoicing — based on the performance of a contract.
  • Keeping a record of opt-out requests — so that we do not contact you again, based on our legitimate interest and legal obligations.
  • Complying with applicable law — based on legal obligations.

4. Sharing your information

We do not sell personal information. We share it only:

  • with the other party of an introduction (company name, contact person, contact details and product information as necessary), and only after you have agreed to that introduction;
  • with service providers that host our email and records on our behalf, such as Google LLC (United States) and Supabase Inc. (United States); and
  • where required by law.

5. International transfers

We are based in Japan, which is recognised by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection. Our service providers may store information in the United States or other countries. Where information about individuals in the EU/EEA or Thailand is transferred to a country without an equivalent level of protection, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or a recognised framework, or on another lawful basis permitted by the GDPR or the PDPA. When we introduce you to a business in another country, we tell you which country it is before asking for your consent.

6. Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes above. Opt-out requests are kept for as long as necessary to make sure we do not contact you again. Records relating to agreements and invoices are kept for the period required by law.

7. Security

We limit access to personal information to people who need it, use encrypted connections, and check how our service providers protect information in the countries where they operate.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you are, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
  • have it corrected or completed;
  • have it erased;
  • restrict or object to its use — including the right to object at any time to direct marketing, which we will always honour;
  • receive it in a portable format;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal; and
  • lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in the EU/EEA, the data protection authority of your country; in Thailand, the Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC).

To exercise these rights, email export@makersclubs.com. We will verify your identity and respond without undue delay and within the period required by applicable law.

9. Opting out of our messages

Reply to export@makersclubs.com with “Unsubscribe”, or simply reply to the message you received. We will process your request within 10 business days.
